Ingredients
  

  • 600 g beef mince
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp black pepper coarsely ground
  • ½ tsp spice for mince or spice for chops and steak
  • 4 hamburger buns cut open
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • lettuce
  • 3 gherkins sliced
  • 4 tsp mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp sweet chilli sauce

Instructions
 

  • Wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Mix together meat, egg, bread crumbs, chopped onion, sauces and spices.
  • Use your hands to form 4 patties. Place patties on a tray with baking paper and put in freezer for 10 minutes to firm.
  • Fry sliced onions in a pan in oil and keep aside.
  • Use the same pan and fry patties for approximately 4 minutes per side.
  • Toast hamburger buns on open sides.
  • Mix mayonnaise with sweet chilli sauce and spread on bottom halves of buns.
  • Top bottom side with lettuce, fried onions and sliced gherkins.
  • Top with patty and cover with top half of bun.
